The Infamous Diet.

I have decided that I am going to start blogging on my diet updates. i also wanted to give you guys a heads up on the diet and let you know what I am eating. Here is a copy of the diet that I am trying to follow. Strict.

Label Free is for Me
If it has an ingredient label do not eat it.

The only exception is yogurt or kefir (they must be plain though), just make sure it is plain and fat
free. I think Nancy's brand is the best.

Guidelines:
Breakfast:
1/2 cup dry oatmeal (preferably steal cut oats and definitely not quick oats)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 cup blueberries
1/4 cup walnuts
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

1 cup fat free plain Yogurt
1/2 cup blueberries or blackberries
1/4 cup walnuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

2 eggs scrambled with 1 cup of spinach
1/2 cup brown rice
1 apple

Quinoa cereal with fresh fruit

Apple, plum, peach, nectarine, watermelon, cherries , grapefruit, pineapple, pear,
Snack: If hungry during the day have one of the following above.

Lunch:
1/2 cup Guacamole
1/4 cup hummus
Dip carrot, broccoli, celery or any other of your favorite vegetables

Spinach salad (2 cups spinach plus 1 medium tomato, 1/2 cup kidney beans, 1/2 cup zucchini, 1/2
cup shiitake mushrooms, olive oil and vinegar dressing)

Guidelines:

Romaine & avocado salad (1 large head romaine lettuce, 1 large tomato chopped, 1 small red bell
pepper cut in thin slices, 1/2 an avocado cut into chunks, 2 Tablespoons chopped walnuts;
dressing = 2 Tablespoons lemon juice, 2 Teaspoons balsamic vinegar, cracked black pepper and
olive oil to taste)

Dinner:
Chicken stir fry (card deck size of chicken and as many vegetables as you can handle, try to make it
very colorful: red, orange and green bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, red onions)

That is a sampling of what I will be eating.
Today for exercise I went on a 45 minute jog- covering about 2 miles of ground.

The Dark Knight

Well im sitting in the theater and ive been here for about an hour now...inside. now waiting outside ive been here an hour and a half longer. im so impressed with everything i see around me. all the people around me dressed up. I feel a little left out. Tonight our generation watches the Dark Knight. I look at this as how people back in the 70s or 80s watched and waited for star wars to come out.
   Im excited about this movie just because of how much electricity has been coming from this film for such a ling time now. Alot of people around me are here because they wanted to see the last film that Heath Ledger did. It is electrifying. the movie isnt going to show for another hour but yet the theater is already jam packed.
   My friend and I will have had been in this theater for roughly 4 and a half hours by the time the movie starts. I have NEVER done this for a movie before!
   A little observation that Ive made about the electricity that surrounds this epic movie (call me naive) but its about the joker. Ive hardly heard anybody talk about Christian Bale in his role as Batman. All I know is that The Dark Knight will make an impact on this summer. Mamma Mia doesnt stand a chance. I see the Joker looking at the box office with this look, like. "tonight...........you"
   I AM THE DARK KNIGHT!!!!!!!!!

We need each other!

Last night we had a great service. Pastor hit on a few different things, and one of them has been ringing in my ear all day today. He told us a story about how one time he went to speak in Washington(at the time it was where Pastor Nathan was working). he got up in front of the congregation and said, "This church must be dealing with these two issues, because that's what we're dealing with in Oklahoma." (Note: this is not an ezact quote...haha!) At the end of the service, Pastor Nathan got up and confirmed that the church was indeed dealing with those two issues. Crazy! He gave us a verse in Galatians that really helped me understand how to deal with carrying other's burdens.

"Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gemtly and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself." Gal 6:9(NLT)

Guard your heart, and help your brothers and sisters in the faith. It's a beautiful thought. Well, God is definitely confirming this idea in my heart. I was watching Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and there is a line toward the end that stopped me in my tracks. I've seen this movie three or four time already, but the timing was a total God thing. For those of you who aren't LOTR savy, here's a brief summary. There is a ring. There is a bad side and a good side. epic battle for Earth. This movie is the last installment of the trilogy. Frodo(the hobbit trying to destroy the ring so the darkness will be defeated) and Samwise(Frodo's friend) are so close to the one place the ring can be destroyed, when Frodo realizes he just doesn't have the energy to go any further. Samwise, being the great friend he is, looks at him and says, "I can't carry it for you. But I can carry YOU." Who can you carry today? We need each other! Much Love!

Mommy Bloggers Hit the Road

Summer Road Trip '08

Although we typically post on Team Vox to let you know about things that are going on with Vox (to, uh, state the obvious), once in a while, we like to let you know about other cool things that are happening around the blogosphere. And we think the idea of four hilarious mommy bloggers traveling across the U.S. on their way to the BlogHer '08 conference - all the while blogging and video blogging the journey - is one trip you will not want to miss.

Four adventurous bloggers from the Silicon Valley Moms Group were selected to participate in the Summer Road Trip '08 and blog about their travels, hotel stays, media appearances, time away from their families, and life on the road. Six Apart helped them partner up with General Motors, who provided the blogging mommies with a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SUV to help make their journey comfy, safe, and a little more green.

A Weekend to Remember.

My bad for not posting in a couple of MOTNHS. Ive been gearing up for some mega-huge changes! Putting that aside let me tell you a story. A story involving me trying new things. It starts out with me getting out of lab on Friday around 1 and eating fruit pizza with friends. One of my friends asked me what I was doing that Saturday night. I responded with the usual "NOTHING" and then she asked me if I wanted to go to a show... A little back story; I knew what kind of show it was. It was a death metal band playing at a bar. I smiled and thought about it. She has asked me to go before and I've told her that I would go, so I said "sure".

Random thought

I've been thinking about what the dirtiest thing in the world is a lot lately. Yes, I know that's very weird, but just hear me out(I suppose read me out would be more appropriate). What's the one thing in the world that gets the dirtiest? Is it our hands? The doorknob? The remote to the tv? I don't have a scientific answer to give you. All I have is my opinion. I've decided that the dirtiest thing in the world has got to be the soap dispenser. Think about it, what do you do when your hands are dirty? Hopefully, you locate the nearest sink and grab the soap and push down on the dispenser deal and wash your hands. No one takes the tine to wipe off the soap dispenser either. There doesn't seem to be a point! Well, my friends, there is now. Much Love!

PS- This is in no way me giving my approval or support of not washing your hands. Soap is our friend.

Wow it has been ages since I posted...almost two months actually...a lot has happened since then, so here's a quick overview of the highlights:

*I've started a new job at Santa Fe Cattle Co. Come see me in MWC at 29th and Air Depot.
*I've moved out, finally on my own, living with my best friend in his new house. I love my parents and they've taught me so much over the past almost 20 years, and they'll always be my heroes.
*I got my braces off...totally pumped about that
*I've furthered my journey into adulthood, leaving childish things behind.

I've been through some tough things the past couple months, but all in all, it's been a great Summer so far. I have some amazing friends who i love all very much, some of whom I miss quite a bit (referring to you Master's kids who felt the need to leave). I'm very excited about the new season in life I'm entering and I couldn't have a better supporting cast of my family, my girlfriend, and my friends.

Anyways, the blogging will be more consistent from this point forward. Hopefully...

Do you live in or around Cincinnati, Ohio? If so, you're in luck because Scott and the Queen City Voxers Group have organized a Vox user meetup!

WHEN: This Saturday, July 12th

WHERE: Ault Park Playground. 3600 Observatory Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. "We'll look for each other at the playground marked by the red X below. If it's raining, head for the shelter to the north of the [red] X."

Life is good.

Well kids, it has been quite an interesting 5 days since graduation. I feel like kind of a loser because lots of other people are continuing to vox a lot after it's not required, and I haven't written anything in at least a week lol. I just have to say though that...everything is somehow amazing right now...I mean, I still don't have a job and to be honest I haven't done a very good job of trying to find one, but there are a couple of possibilities that I really can't do much about unless I get a call back...and really, I need a job for tuition and for gas money but...I'm not worried about it, you know? I think that God gave me this amazing peace somewhere in the last couple of weeks and I have no idea when it happened...I was so worried about so many things the last couple of weeks of MC but now...it's like why did I even bother? Worrying and stressing out just bring you down and don't help you accomplish anything at all. Just remember that next time you start freaking out.
